Cabot Oil and Gas Completes Rosebud Well: Weekly Oil Report

New Locations –  Horizontal

A total of six new locations were permitted in Richland County last week. Three of the wells will bear the flag of Slawson Exploration Company: the Dirk Federal 1-22-21H (NW NW 23-21N-59E), with a Probable Bottom Hole Location (PBHL) of 20,253 feet; the Boomerang 1-4H (SE SE 36-21N-59E), with a PBHL of 15,436 feet; and the Barbarian 1-14H (NE NE 14-23N-53E) and its PBHL at 14,242 feet.

Continental Resources will be drilling the Belleeza 1-12H (NE NW 12-23N-53E), with a PBHL of 19,627 feet; Whiting Oil and Gas will be drilling the Palmer 24-21-1H (SE SW 21-26N-57E) with a PBHL at 20,920 feet; and rounding out the list is Oasis Petroleum North America’s Stilt Federal 2658 42-22H (SE SW 22-26N-58E), having a PBHL of 20,759. All the wells are aiming for the Bakken Formation.

Re-Issued Locations

In Fallon County, Fidelity Exploration and Production has been greenlighted for two Fallon County Re-Issued Permits. The wells are the Fee-BR 2826 (NE NW 17-5N-61E) and the Fee-BR 2827 (SW SE 17-5N-61E). Both wells are in the Cedar Creek Field and target the Eagle Formation at a Proposed Depth of 2,000 feet.

EOG Resources won approval for two wells in Richland County. The Candee 4-0405H (NE SW 4-25N-53E) will have a PBHL of 13,725 feet while the Candee 3-05H (NW SW 5-25N-53E) will have a PBHL at 15,470. Both Wildcat wells will shoot for the Bakken Formation.

Wrapping up the Re-Issued Locations is the Archer (Federal) 1-26H (NW NW 26-24N-52E). The Slawson Exploration Company well has a PBHL of 13,461 feet, tapping into the Bakken Layer.


EOG Resources reported as complete the Stateline 4-2625H (NW SW 26-28N-59E). The Bakken Formation well has a Bottom Hole Location (BHL) of 16,320 feet. The reported Initial Potential (IP) of the well is 166 Barrels of Oil Per Day (BOPD); 200,000 Cubic Feet of Gas Per Day (MCFPD), and 3,040 Barrels of Water Per Day (BWPD).

In Rosebud County, Cabot Oil & Gas wrapped up the Garnet 1-27H (SW SE 27-12N-31E). The well, which targets the Heath Formation, has a Total Depth of 7,805 feet.
